About TWM

Welcome to a world of colour and pattern where every sheet we produce is hand marbled by Jess Goulty here in the rolling Lincolnshire wolds.
Jess' joyfully exuberant designs gather inspiration from an eclectic range of natural and man made sources. Bold colour combinations are her signature and she loves to use contrasting colours to create vibrant designs.
Jess particularly enjoys the spontaneity of marbling sheets multiple times to create detailled layers and unexpected colours. We have always felt that these sheets have a distinctive visual quality unlike anything else.
Producing marbled paper since 2017, our papers are used by bookbinders, box makers, lampshade makers, print makers, artists and interior designers amongst others. We have also produced work for brands and individuals wanting something special and unique to complement their vision or product.
Displaying a passion for pattern with intricate multi layered prints, currently most of our work is one off production. We are working on producing a limited catalogue of designs which will be available later in the year.
We also do commission work, so please head to the commissions page for more information or Get in touch to discuss a specific project.
A marbler fom 200 years ago would recognise the processes we use to create a design on a sheet of marbled paper as they really haven't changed, but modern paint and materials technology allows us to bring this heritage and endangered craft up to date. Paint technology in particular has advanced in leaps and bounds since the heyday of marbling in the 19th century but the way patterns are made is still the same. It is a rare opportunity to be able to have a foot in both the worlds of ancient craft and modern design.
We have never compromised on our ethical standards of responsible sourcing and waste management, so all our base papers are FSC or PEFC certified and manufactured in UK or EU paper mills to guarantee the responsible management of forests. Jess prefers to marble with acrylics as it enables her to create richly coloured papers where the paint is stable and durable without any additional surface treatments. The paint can also cope with moisture - you can even put a sheet under a running tap! All the paints used are artist's quality and sourced from small UK art suppliers.
